Dear 4-H Friends and Families

We have taken several steps the past year to provide higher quality and real world experiences for Pennsylvania's youth. In this quest to make the best better through excellent youth programming, 4-H is alive and well in the Commonwealth. We have 102,400 individuals enrolled in our 4-H youth development programs and 9,700 volunteer leaders who are firmly committed to developing future leaders through 4-H.

Our 4-H programs provide excellent opportunities to help youth maximize their potential and become healthy adults who make significant, positive contributions to American society and the global community. These opportunities include socializing with peers and adults, developing life skills, contributing to communities in positive ways, belonging to excellent and supportive groups, and acquiring skills in various subject matter areas.

The Family Guide to 4-H Publications is designed to acquaint you with the many diverse projects that are available to youth. This publication will enable you to choose experiences that best suit an individual's unique needs. Our projects cover many interesting topics that will appeal to youth regardless of their place of residence. We are excited about the opportunities that await our 4-H youth who live in our rural, suburban, and urban centers. Your suggestions, comments, and thoughts about our projects will be appreciated. On behalf of our 4-H faculty and staff, we look forward to working with you through our 4-H youth development program.

Sincerely yours,

Christy E. Bartley
4-H Program Leader
